TekCube is a development company based in Queensland, Australia. Started in early November 2010 by close friends Phillip Kilby (Managing Director) and Daniel Battye (Chief Executive Officer), work immediately began upon our first game, then-called YanzCity with a small team consisting of Marc Lequime (UX Designer) and Calum Scott (Programmer). With the team consisting of just a programmer, an artist and the pair of founders, TekCube incorporated and became the company it is today.
While TekCube is but a small, but growing company - it consists of just 4 employees - we aspire to become one of the most influential and brilliant developers out there. Our offices are our homes. Our workplaces are our studies. But what we have got, that we think is really unique, is a vibrant passion for the work that we do, and a powerful desire to achieve our objectives. Clear goals, good design and straightforward implementation are key elements of our development here at TekCube, and we're constantly looking for newcomers to join the unit.
At the moment, we develop a videogame for mass consumption on the Internet. The game, SiviCITY, is an online experience for teenagers and older to communicate, share and play. We're deep into developing the project, having already run an alpha-phase test which succeeded with over 40 players online! You can read more about SiviCITY here.
We are also developing a project named 'Levci'.
But we have so much more aspiration than just a game. We at TekCube are looking to expand into a wide range of projects, over many different types of services. And as we grow, you will see new projects appear on these very pages as we expand from a small four-person team to a large-scale company. These are just some of our ambitions. We want to expand our horizons and become the leaders in our field - a field we've yet to really define, but one we are sure we will excel in.
We're a small company. No one is denying that. But we expect to grow, and with an already-strong team dedicated to producing only the best of the best, we can't go wrong. Here's an overview of our current team members.

Dan Battye, the CEO and one of the founders of TekCube, is a reliable, hard-working and focused leader. With a brilliant sense of direction and knowledge of the business world, yet at just 19, he's had an early start on things. Previous employed as a security manager at CFT, and working as a computer tech, Dan has plenty of experience and is a well-suited worker. A brilliant manager whose interests are always for the best of the team and the project, and not his own.

As the managing director at TekCube, Phillip Kilby is in charge of dealing with other employees, as well as hiring and increasing productivity within the team. Phil is also in charge of the SiviCITY project. Whilst the team is still small, Phil is a very straightforward and interested manager who takes good care and thought into the well-being of his employees and understands the importance of maintaining a strong working atmosphere. Capable of regularly taking a very active leadership role in the development of SiviCITY, Phil is a very skilled manager. Phil, 18, is still in full-time education.

Marc Lequime has been doing graphic design since a very young age. Always a keen and passionate worker whose ideas push forward the projects he works on, and whose attention to detail boosts the quality of our projects, Marc is a very skilled designer, capable of web design, general graphic design and especially pixel art. At 18 years old, and currently studying in A-Level ICT and Business, with experience working in computer shops and as a freelance graphic designer, Marc is a young but very skilled member of our team.

Our programmer, Calum Scott, is an experienced and capable developer with extensive knowledge of Java and Actionscript 3. Developing our current project SiviCITY in Flash, Calum faces challenges and overcomes them with brilliant results. Calum is responsible for the current development of SiviCITY, and was the producer in its entirety of the initial client that was developed for TekCube. Calum is forward thinking, responsible and very talented in knowledge of several programming languages.

We, as a company, have only just begun - we have a small team of dedicated, hard-working employees who work coherently. And we're also developing things (though you've probably guessed that). At the moment we would like to focus on developing interactive applications for people to use and enjoy using that can also be applied in a logical business sense. This page has a light overview on SiviCITY, our main product, and potential applications for SiviCITY once developed.

SiviCITY, the main project of TekCube, is an online social experience. Users connect as avatars, small pixellated representations of themselves. The 'Sivillians', as the users are called, connect in virtual public spaces, or can develop their own 'Apartments' to hang out in.
Users can take part in minigames and buy or win units of virtual currency used to purchase either virtual items or membership to various clubs.
SiviCITY, whilst being a system for users to communicate and share in, will be developed to be as safe to use as possible, and parents of users should not worry as protection systems will be put in to prevent instances.
SiviCITY is intended to be developed carefully according to user feedback and to play an active role in allowing the community to have an opinion or a say in the changes made to the product throughout post-release development - we plan to run a website that allows users to submit bug reports and forums to allow users to discuss new changes that they would like to see made to the client.
SiviCITY is a free-to-all game. It does not cost any money to create a Sivillian, nor does it cost any money to talk in public rooms or join other players' public rooms, or create Apartments. SiviCITY is a game with a virtual currency system that is used to purchase either virtual goods, access to different clubs, or access to minigames. SiviCITY is being carefully developed as a fun, intuitive environment that is still enjoyable to play without the additional VIP features, but which has incentives for users to purchase units of virtual currency.
The rates charged for units of virtual currency will never be large, and the game when played with premium features will still be an affordable experience for users.
At the moment, TekCube has several small projects in the concept stage that have not been developed yet. However, as each project passes to the development stage, this will be updated to reflect any changes within the company. Our main focus is on developing and launching SiviCITY at the present time.

SiviCITY, the main project at TekCube, is an online virtual world. Users connect, play and share. SiviCITY is a work in progress, which is expected to be completed by November 2013.
At the time of writing, SiviCITY has undergone basic Alpha testing, as a closed-test was conducted in November 2011. The client proved to be a success and the basic frame of which SiviCITY had already been developed on was then evaluated and work begun on a new, improved client in March 2012. We aim to have finished Version 1 of SiviCITY by Spring 2013. An invite-only Beta of SiviCITY will be run in Winter 2012.

Users, named 'Sivillians', inhabit the city and are allowed to either create their own personal Apartments, or hang out in Town Spaces. In these virtual areas, users can communicate, add friends, chat and trade items with each other. Users are allowed to purchase units of virtual currency, Coins, which can be used to purchase virtual furniture, membership of exclusive clubs, or rounds of games.
Users can add friends which they can communicate with via built-in messaging systems, or by inviting the users to the rooms they are in.
SiviCITY is designed to be a fun and safe atmosphere for many users to play and chat together and will be the main focus of TekCube. At the moment, we are actively developing SiviCITY as fast as possible and are aiming for an early 2013 release.
